
The Pride of the North are back to the domestic top flight after eight years in the second-tier league.
Real Tamale United qualified to play Ghana’s Premier League next season after beating Unity FC 2-0 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale after Bofoakwa drew goalless with Berekum Arsenal at the Golden City Park.
Tied on 65 points, RTU secured promotion over Bofoakwa with a better head-to-head after drawing goalless with the Otobila Boys in Sunyani and winning 2-0 in Tamale in the reverse fixture.https://www.youtube.com/embed/hWi-OC1E4I8?feature=oembed
RTU were relegated from the Ghana Premier League in April 2013 after losing 4-1 to New Edubiase United with seven matches to the end of the season. The Pride of the North ended the season without a win in 30 matches – five draws and 25 defeats.
Real Tamale made their debut in the topflight in the 1978 season and finished 3rd on the league log and had since been a force to reckon with.
